Affordable. Accurate. Negotiation Power.
Why get a Rigor RV Inspection?
When you know an RVs issues, you can negotiate a better deal and avoid buying a lemon.
But most RV inspections are extremely long and expensive, covering details you either don’t need (like the microwave model number) or things you can easily check yourself (like do the lights turn on).
Rigor RV Inspections focus on what actually matters – efficiently finding and reporting the major issues with an RV so you can maximize your negotiation power.
Rigor RV Inspections –
1) Affordable – Don’t overpay for useless information
2) Accurate – Reports are reviewed by an RV tech
3) Negotiation Power – help you avoid a lemon RV!
Affordable
We Check What Matters
Standard RV Inspections are extremely expensive because they take 6-10 hours.
But the truth is that a lot of that time is spent recording details that won’t impact your purchase (like appliance model and serial numbers) or items you can easily check yourself (like do the lights turn on).
A Rigor RV Inspection is more affordable because you’re only paying for an inspection of what actually matters.
Accurate
Reports Reviewed
An inspection only helps you make an informed RV buying decision if it’s accurate. Sadly, many reports are not.
The RV industry is unregulated, which is why clients have sent me reports that had errors and omissions because of the lack of quality control around inspections.
All new Rigor Inspectors have their reports checked by an RV technician or veteran inspector so your report is accurate.
Avoid Lemon RVs
Negotiate a fair price
Even brand new RVs have issues and warranty repairs typically take 3-6 months. That’s months of your RV sitting in the shop while you’re still paying the note!
When you know an RVs issues, you can negotiate a better deal and have issues fixed BEFORE you take on ownership.
If the RV is a lemon, it’s best to find this out pre-purchase! Post-purchase the unfixable RV is your expensive problem.

- Easy to check: Items like do the steps work when you try to enter the RV? Did all the cabinets open and shut? Do the lights turn on? You don’t need to pay a professional to tell you that one lightbulb in the bathroom is burned out.

*If you’re unable to perform your own self-check, these items can be added to basic report for an additional fee.
Cut
Waste of Time/Money
Your report won’t have any of the following-
- Appliance model and serial numbers: It’s very time intensive and expensive to pay for an inspector to record this useless information. If an appliance is not working, a technician might need the appliance model/serial number, which he can lookup himself.
- RV Features: You want an inspection to note what’s broken, but many inspection reports have pages and pages just documenting each RV component’s brand/type. These features, like the brand of refrigerator, will not help you negotiate a better price from the seller.
- Other useless details: Details like license plate information (you have to get new license plates anyway), the RVs Gross Vehicle Weight (a fact you either already know or could look at the VIN tag), or the Cargo Carrying Capacity (once again, a feature you’ve already settled on).
Frequently Asked Questions
The dealership is doing a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI). Do I need another RV inspection?
Yes, you will benefit from a Rigor RV Inspection.
PDIs are often performed by the least experienced tech at the dealership. The technicians are incentivized to finish them as quickly as possible. Often major systems are not checked correctly or not checked at all.
Imagine buying a house where the inspection was done by someone on the sellers payroll. The dealership doesn’t want their technicians telling you about huge issues with the RV that might make you walk away from the sale.
Many RVs cost the same as a house but have more issues and fewer laws to protect customers. Relying on a PDI to catch issues is a great way to get taken advantage of by the RV industry.
Do I need an inspection if the RV is new? Won't warranty fix any issues?
Warranty repairs typically take 3-6 months. While issues you discover post-purchase will be fixed for “free” by the warranty, you’re still paying the note on your RV while it sits in the shop for months.
Want to know the fastest way to get something fixed under warranty? Have a sale contingent on it. Not only will things be fixed faster, but you won’t be paying the carrying costs for months for an RV you can’t use to go camping.
And sometimes…. an RV is a lemon. The technicians can’t fix it – but they won’t admit it. It’s best to find this out pre-purchase, because post-purchase the service department will string you along until the warranty expires and the unfixable RV is your expensive problem.
How long does a Rigor RV Inspection take?
How long an RV inspection takes depends on the size and type of RV. A basic Rigor RV inspection typically takes between 2-5 hours.
How much does a Rigor RV Inspection cost?
While Rigor RV Inspections are on average much cheaper than a standard 3rd party inspection, the exact cost will vary based on the RV size, type and location. Please contact one of our listed RV inspectors for a quote.
